Pink Ribbon Regatta

The Pink Ribbon Regatta is a local regatta sponsored by the Lake Pontchartrain Women's Sailing Association. The origin of the Pink Ribbon Regatta is a story of hope and survival founded by LPWSA members Darlene Sintes and Elaine Boos. Inspired by the experience of a friend undergoing treatment for breast cancer, Darlene and Elaine used their love of sailing to show their support. Together with the help of LPWSA members they organized the Pink Ribbon Regatta, in honor of their friend. Today their friend is a proud breast cancer survivor and the Pink Ribbon Regatta, now over a decade in existence, has help numerous women and families affected by breast cancer.

Proceeds from Pink Ribbon Regatta are donated to the Louisiana Breast and Cervical Health Program (LBCHP). Funds donated to LBCHP help support their mission to prevent unnecessary disease, disability, and premature death by providing quality cancer screenings at no cost to uninsured, underinsured, and women living with low-income in Louisiana.

The 2019 Pink Ribbon Regatta is happening in October. Start NOW to raise boat-load of cash to donate to the Pink Ribbon Regatta and get your boat and your crew ready for a fun race!

Each year the LPWSA calls on the local community to help to ensure the event’s silent auction offers fantastic art, gift cards, services, and one-of-a-kind items. If you or your organization are interested in donating an item from your business for the Pink Ribbon Regatta silent auction, please contact us.

If you or your organization are interested in volunteering, sponsorship, making a cash or item donation, or providing refreshments to the 2019 Pink Ribbon Regatta please contact us.

Thank you to all volunteers, sponsors, and sailors who help in the 2018 Pink Ribbon Regatta fundraising effort.

Hope of survival is brighter thanks to everyone who contributes. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
