Learn to Sail on Femme Fatale

Femme Fatale is the first club boat of the LPWSA. Christened in 2014, the 54-year-old Flying Scot has become a key component of LPWSA sailing and education programs. Workshops, Friday Night Races, and AdventureSail® events have benefited from the addition of the LPWSA club boat. Femme Fatale was lovingly rebuilt by LPWSA members with the help of local and national organizations such as North Sails, Sintes Boat Works, Flying Scot Foundation, and many generous donors.

A key component of LPWSA membership includes year-round access to the club boat for racing, cruising, and hands-on skills development. New members interested in using the club boat must be ‘checked-out’ to sail by demonstrating a range of sailing competencies with a current member.

New members can find a list of the required competencies.

All members must sign a LPWSA waiver prior to sailing and maintain a copy of the Lake Pontchartrain Emergency Card while sailing.
